Kole was in good spirits today. Everything was falling perfectly into place, and life couldn't be any better. Dian was currently suffering from a blackout, Solas was basically being ran by himself, and he had the Solas Overloridian, locked up inside of his giant castle home. Kole was in such a good mood, that he decided to pay little Amerie a visit. He started to make his way down through the halls, whistling a random tune that came into his head.

Amerie's prison was in the basement of Kole's castle. It was a tiny little room with only one light bulb, no windows, and only four walls to keep her company. Most of the time, Kole kept her in the dark, but he didn't want the girl to lose her sanity, so every once and a while he'd keep the light on for her.

Finally, he reached the door she was locked behind, and he knocked loudly on the iron door as if he was seeking permission to be let into her bedroom and let himself in.

"Oh Amerie!" He almost sing-songed. "I have to share more Solas news!"

The lights were off, but he could see her perfectly fine.

Amerie was falling apart. She'd lost track of the amount of time she'd spent in this cellar, with no sunlight to differentiate between day and night, and she was fed at odd hours (when she was fed at all), so she had no way to count the hours.

Each day she was visited by someone, whether it was a Deilig crony, or Kole himself, and each day she was tortured. They made sure to remind her repeatedly why she was being kept here (defying Kole), and also made sure that she never forgot the clio of Solas, her friends and family, all believed she was dead. Which meant she would be trapped here. Forever.

All Amerie wanted was to die. When she was being beaten, she would hover on the brink of unconsciousness, wishing for nothing but for one more blow, ending it all. But it never came. The clio of Deilig were exceptional at their work, and while they would take her to within inches of her life (or what felt like it, at least), they never went too far.

Today, Amerie was lying on the cold, stone floor, her arms held above her her head by rusty shackles. She was so hungry--it felt like it had been days since she'd eaten anything, and her stomach was constantly in pain. It was all she could think about. Until, of course, a knock came at her door.

If Amerie was feeling cold before it was nothing to the way she felt when Kole's singsonging voice called her name. She couldn't breathe. It was Kole.

Kole smiled. He loved seeing her cower like this, and what made it even better was that she couldn't see him anywhere. He chuckled.

"So remember a few weeks ago when I told you about Reid?" He asked, conversationally. "Well the other day, he shut off that useless power plant of yours." He let that sink in for a second before continuing. "Now Dian is living in the darkness again!" He almost giggled when he finished his sentence.

He stepped closer and kneeled down in front of Amerie, grabbed a large chunk of her hair and pulled. "And it's all of your fault," he said while holding back maniacal laughter. "You dumb fucking bitch!"

Amerie sat in fear, too afraid to move. The beating of her pulse in her ears was so great she could barely hear what Kole was saying to her. All she could think about was the fact that he was out there, somewhere in the darkness, and that he was probably here to hurt her. She heard something about Dian, and then suddenly Kole was ripping at her hair, yanking her up and away from the cold wall she was chained to. His maniacal laughter provided the soundtrack for the biting pain she felt in her wrists as she was tugged against her shackles.

A quiet whimper exited her throat as he continued his laughing. Some of the clio sent to torture here got angry when she screamed, so she had learned to keep quiet in her punishments. Large but silent tears rolled down her cheeks, and she squeezed her eyes shut, though there was nothing to see, anyway.

Kole clicked his tongue in disgust at her, and let go of her hair. "Are you even listening to me?" He asked. "Perhaps you're too broken to even register what I'm saying to you." He got right up into her face and yelled, "HELLOOOOO! ANYBODY IN THAT STUPID HEAD OF YOURS?!"

He stood back up shook his head and laughed. "There's absolutely no fight in you anymore," he said demeaningly. "At first I was a little worried when we met on Theodore Lane, but now look at you." He kicked her hip and spat in her general direction. "You're nothing."

Amerie fell to the floor when he released her hair, and scooted back to get as close to the wall as she could. Though she knew it was impossible, she prayed to whatever gods were out there that she could melt into the stone.

Before she knew it, Kole was screaming in her face, his voice loud and piercing. Amerie choked back a sob, trying desperately to keep her tears under control. Crying was never a good thing. Crying only led to worse things happening to her.

It was true. She was a weak, blubbering child. Too weak to save her eilemaiden. Too weak to break free. Too weak to fight back.

"You're also boring," Kole replied. "I hate it when things cry."

He rolled his eyes and shook his head. Maybe he'd just stop coming down here all together. All it ever ended up doing was irritate him.

"Gods what a useless thing," he said with another shake of his head. He reached up above his head and pulled the string of the light so that the small room could be illuminated. It was dim, but bright enough for Amerie to see.

"I guess I'll have them feed you today," Kole told her, feeling annoyed. "Can't very well have you starve to death."

He reached out with his foot and used it to move Amerie's head so that he could get a better look at her face. He clicked his tongue, "Filthy thing."

Despite being dim, the light blinded Amerie for few moments. She blinked repeatedly, trying to get used to the brightness. When he mentioned food, Amerie felt crazed. Food. She couldn't remember the last time she had eaten.

"T-thank you," Amerie said, even though he followed by calling her filthy. Gods, all she wanted was some food. Anything.
