WINTER's past: Winter grew up as an only child with her parents in Ughdarras. She had a pretty normal childhood, played outside until the sun had set, kissed a couple boys, climbed trees, and broke a few bones. When Winter was a toddler till about seven years old, her parents would send her to a local daycare in Ughdarras. Until they decided it would be cheaper to hire a babysitter, and paid the young man who lived next door to watch her while her parents were at work.
Winter has never told anyone this, but her babysitter molested her, and forced her to do sexual things to him. This went on for almost seven years until she moved away to live at the Red Fern Academy her freshmen year.
Thanks to him, she's always been very confused when it comes to sex, and doesn't know how to respect herself. She feels like the only way a guy will ever like her is if she sleeps with him. She's earned a reputation of sorts, and doesn't know how to stop herself.
WINTER's present: Winter's current residence is the dorms at Red Fern Academy. During holidays she's goes back home to Ughdarras to be with her family, but she also stays at Red Fern during the summer holidays. However she still finds time to come home.
Basically, Winter is seen as the school floozy, and that hinders her relationships with girls. She's desperate for a person to talk to, but unfortunately all of her friends are guys, and they're only after one thing.
Despite her rep, she still receives good grades, and studies regularly. One day she'd like to be a doctor or pharmacist, and buries her nose in books, blocking out the rest of the world around her.
