Nils couldn't keep himself trapped in his comfort zone forever. Paisley had let him open up slowly to her, and had helped him slowly ease himself out of the estate. She knew now, since the organization had been brought down and brought to justice, that it was the right time to push him a little more.
When her parents had asked Paisley to dinner she'd coaxed Nils into coming with her. So here they were, in Earalas.
"It's gonna be great," Paisley said reassuringly to Nils, before kissing his cheek. They were standing on her parents' porch, where Paisley had paused to make sure Nils had a moment to breathe. "They're going to love you." And it was true--her parents already did. They were so excited when Paisley had said she had met someone, and had been so thrilled when she'd agreed to bring him. Paisley hadn't told Nils how eager they were though, because she didn't want to make him think he had to live up to any higher expectations than he already thought.
